theMakings is a coaching platform dedicated to building the future leaders of tomorrow. We are a service provider aimed at increasing personal productivity and leadership skills. 

We are committed to protecting personal information in a respectful and transparent way. It is your right to know what data we collect, how it is used and its legal purpose for collection. These policies are here to provide you with a transparent view on how and why we collect and process your data.

What Data We Collect

All personal data is collected from you, the user. This data includes:

  • Your name
  • Personal email address
  • Address Information
  • Payment Details
  • IP Address information
  • Device advertising ID

We do not collect any data without your consent. Any and all data is provided to us either directly by you, the user, as a result of your actions using the platform or, in the instance of b2b coaching, by your employer.

Cookie Policy

On our platform cookies are used containing mostly non-personal data. We may, on rare occasion, store personal data in these cookies. Information stored in these cookies can include access tokens, IP address information, name or email address identifier. The aim of using these cookies is to create a better experience for users whilst also protecting their privacy. All data collected and stored in cookies is done so in compliance with the relevant GDPR policies. 

No sensitive information, such as passwords, is stored in these cookies.

What We Use Your Data For

Data Sharing

In order to deliver the best possible service to users we share certain information with external data processors. These processors include services such as email and payment processors where a legitimate interest in these services is required. For example appointment reminder emails. Your data is not shared with any of these services without your consent. 

As part of the coaching functionality, external vetted third party businesses (coaches) will have access to certain data collected by the platform that enhance the users experience and effectiveness of the platform. Information such as payment details or addresses are not shared in this regard. 

Data Controllers

theMakings is a data controller for any data it collects (see above for what data) about you.

Data Processors

theMakings itself processes and uses external data processors in its operations. No data is shared externally unless there is an operational need of the business to do so. For example email senders (see above). 

We use anonymised personal data internally and with verified external parties for the purpose of research and reporting. This data is intended to provide anonymised, aggregated reports to businesses using our services. None of this data can be traced back to an individual.

Communication Between theMakings And You

There will be certain times where theMakings will want to send communications out to you by methods such as emails. You may opt out to any of these methods of communication at any time.

There is a requirement for essential security communication that cannot be opted out of. By accepting the terms of service you consent to this form of communication.

How Is Your Data Protected

We use industry standard security protocols for securing your data. All personal information is stored in databases on secure servers. We operate a zero trust policy to ensure the maximum security regarding who has access to the data. In the event the data type should not be visible (passwords, etc) this is encrypted in both transmission and storage using industry standard level encryption methods. 

If your actions on the platform lead us to believe you are performing activities that violate the terms and conditions of theMakings, your membership may be terminated. 

Our Lawful Basis For Collection

We collect and process the stated personal information based on the lawful basis of consent. This means you have provided clear consent for us to collect and process this information for the specific and clear purposes set out in this policy.

Data Retention Policy

We will only hold onto your data as long as is lawfully required for the purposes of the business. All personal data is held for 2 years after terminating use of the platform. After this period, your personal data will be automatically deleted.

Your Data Protection Rights

Under data protection law, you have the following rights:

  • Your right of access – you have the right to request a copy of any personal information
  • Your right to rectification – you have the right to request us to rectify any personal information you deem to be inaccurate. You also have the right to request we complete any information that is incomplete
  • Your right to erasure – you have the right to request your personal data is erased from our systems in certain circumstances
  • Your right to restriction of processing – you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data in certain circumstances
  • Your right to object to processing – you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to request the transfer of your personal data to another organisation, or you directly, in certain circumstances. 

Exercising the rights above does not come with a cost penalty. If a request to exercise any of the above rights is made, we have 1 month to respond.
